Enough
There is a God sized hole
within the innermost
regions of every soul.
Its dark, and it is deep,
its shadows are weeping
with the gnashing of teeth.
We try our vain restraints
to fill its desires,
trying to compensate
things that take us higher.
Vestiges fellowship,
forever searching the
delicious anxiousness
when our passions erupt
revealing to us that
enough is never enough
to satisfy the space,
of what seems to be a
perpetually faced
and a purposely placed
God sized hole of what is
an unsatisfied state,
revealing this to us
our passions desires
will never be enough
to satisfy the space
of a God sized hole of
an unsatisfied state.
Sonnet 6:12
I contest not against you my brother
nor any vessel that carries it through,
the sin that bleeds is prompted by another
though it’s your brother that carries it through
and I, myself is as guilty as you.
The first to fall to envy and to pride
has legions of demons trained to pursue,
one third of heaven beguiled by his lies
one third of heaven that is destined to die.
He is the enemy that we cannot see
when we recognize the sin that’s inside
as his abilities personified.
We fight a fight that is beyond our sight
and the flesh is the stage on which we fight.
The enemy is not the one we see
nor is it sins that lay beneath the skin.
In the darkness of the heart, he roams free
ruling the dark from the darkness within,
ruling the hearts of those whose life is sin.
The prince of darkness, the angle of death
and unclean spirits attack the souls of men
in our conscious unredeemed humanness,
a stage of flesh, in the vastness of the mind
we fight a fight that is life or death,
no particular place, just all the time
we fight spirits in spiritual things
with a faith of substance in things unseen.

Very well written. I have read other poems by Felton Craig and they tend to make you look deep inside of your soul to see what really fills that “God placed hole.” You get caught up in the settings that he has placed before you and before you know it, off you go into a world of realism and fantasy.
