Register to Attend

This is a free event with door prizes meant to encourage the appreciation and writing of classical poetry. Register for the event by emailing submissions@classicalpoets.org with the subject line “Symposium.” Specify which sessions you will attend. Attendees are expected to dress business casual. If registering for the Classical Poetry Master Class, bring a notebook and something to write with. Attendees must register no later than May 15. The size of the venue is limited. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Register to Read or Speak

—Anyone can apply to read poetry or speak on the topic of classical poetry (as long as it is within the spirit of “A Celebration of Meter and Rhyme”).

—Email what you propose to read, whether poetry or a speech, to submissions@classicalpoets.org. All those who speak are expected to begin by reading a poem or poetry excerpt by a great poet of the past (Romantic period or earlier), followed by metered and/or rhyming poetry of your own or other’s. If your proposal is accepted, you will be granted a slot of between 5 and 15 minutes. You must register no later than May 15.

—If you are speaking at the event, you may bring copies of your book for sale. If you bring more than one book, we cannot guarantee space for display.

Don’t think I can make this, but a very exciting day and I send all good wishes to the classical poets who will make it possible.
