In line with its mission to preserve humankind’s artistic traditions, the Society of Classical Poets is featuring the best of artwork submitted recently by high school students. This artwork uses a relatively more traditional aesthetic in an effective way. Note that none of the below featured works utilized artificial intelligence in their production. If poets would like to compose a poem to go with one of these works, they may post it in the comments below or submit it for consideration for separate publication. A St. Valentine’s Day Limerick
Roses and boxes and bows
spell romance and everyone knows
although it is pricey,
forgetting is dicey,
but that’s just the way that Love goes.

Every one of these still life drawings reveals motion in its own particularly creative way.
These drawings are very impressive accomplishments for this age group. It takes great patience and skill to render 3D objects with their lighting, light reflections, depth perspectives and various textures in 2D with pencil, and have the result look aesthetically pleasing and interesting to the viewer. Every one of these looks great. Congratulations to the young artists!

I am delighted to see your artwork. I especially enjoyed noticing the way you accomplished the draping look (Maggie and Penelope), the contrasts between dark and light (Izah and Tianlong) and the reflection (Sophia).
How wonderful that young people are using their gifts to create beauty that is full of truth and goodness. Keep up the wonderful work – you will never be sorry. I, on the other hand, am sorry that I allowed others to discourage me from creative arts as a young person.

What a feast for the eyes this artwork is. All of the drawings are beautifully done, but I particularly like those ballet shoes and roses… that picture whispers to me… in poetry.
